Breeder Of Merit web OES

We have made many friends over our years of being “in dogs”. Some people have been especially dear to us; both by sharing knowledge and friendship.

We consider our kennel to be a large family of friends whose dog’s are involved in our breeding program.
                                       ...Colleen and Dea

The following people are part of our OES family:

BlueCaleb - Dave Haddon and Betty Fast live in Canada. They show in both conformation and performance events. Their dog Dillon, Am/Can/Bda Ch. BlueCaleb Born Country, Can/Am CD, CGC, DWA, ROM, Can DD is the first OES in Canada to earn a Draft Dog Title. Our D.J. stayed with Dave and Betty, who showed him at the Canadian OES National Specialty, where he won Best In Specialty!

Brightcut -Cass Moulton-Arble is renowned for her sound sheepdogs, both in conformation and genetic health issues. Her dogs seem to just float in the ring. Cass was the Health and Research Chairperson for the Old English Club of America. Cass shared her extremely valuable semen that was collected from her  dogs in the early 1980’s with us. Many of the dogs we have including Jagger, Ice, Graham, Dottie, Stetson and Bright are a result of her generosity.

Bugaboo -Doug and Michaelanne Johnson, and their son Colton and his wife Heather, live in Colorado. Doug and Michaelanne were awarded the highly prestigious award of AKC Breeders of the Year in 2006.
They are currently campaigning Ch Bugaboo Big Resolution (Smokin’) who is the #1 OES in the country and the #2 All Breed Dog in the country. Smokin’ is exclusively handled by Colton.
They are well known for being exquisite groomers and handlers of sheepdogs, along with having an impeccable “eye” for dogs. They have bred many National Specialty Best in Specialty Winners, including the fathers of our George,  D.J. and Sassie, and Glory and Gracie. We are proud to have their dogs in our pedigrees.

Cotswold - Lee Layman recently moved to Seattle, Washington, but for most of her “sheepdog” years, she and her husband Jim lived in Redmond, Washington. Jim passed away a few years ago, and is sorely missed by all who knew him.

Colleen got her “Promise” from Lee and appreciates all the decades of breeding that Lee did to produce such an incredible brood bitch.

Dea has many fond memories of both Jim and Lee, from Lee teaching her to tube feed premature puppies to Jim visiting her in the hospital the morning her son was born. One of Dea’s favorite sheepdogs that she ever owned was a bitch she bought from Lee and Jim.

Squarecote - Karen Lee is a legend in the sheepdog world. She lives in Kent Washington. Her knowledge of Old English Sheepdog pedigrees is unsurpassed in the Nation.
